Scott Metko

  QwikStix Reference:   QwikStix User

Bio:   Scott grew up as the son of WI bandleader Dick Metko, where he started playing on Dad’s weekly TV show at age 10.  At age 17, he was chosen to perform in the McDonald’s All-American High School Band.  At a concert in Carnegie Hall, guest soloist Lionel Hampton chose Scott to perform his big band swing.  Living in New York and Minneapolis, Scott has recorded or performed with artists such as Fred Wesley, Steve Kahn, Alan O’Day, Tiny Tim (yep, the ‘Tip Toe Through the Tulips’  guy), fusion band BOZO Allegro and Americana rocker Deb Soule.  Now in Nashville, Scott is touring and recording with multi-platinum country legend David Ball and red dirt rocker Adam Fears.  Watch for Scott on discs by both artists in 2009.

Comment:  When playing with David Ball, my Qwikstix Metronome Utility Tray is set-up every night.  David’s early albums were recorded with the ‘A’ list Nashville session guys, and it’s my job to recreate that feel and those tempos every night.  Plus, it takes all of 7 seconds to set it up!
